Day 27-6/27/07 Laramie

We woke up a 6am to leave Wheatland middle school, and started on our 80 mile ride to Laramie, Wy. The majority of the ride was up hill until lunch time, then there was a short down hill into Laramie. The ride was actually kind of miserable, it was about 95 degrees and we were going so slow up the hills that the deer flies had no problems biting us repeatedly. We did however pass by an animal refuge where there were moose, elk and bison right next to the road. I did get charged by one of the male bison,

he was big, luckily he ran into the fence before he got to me. Once we made a left onto whatever highway took us into Laramie we started getting passed by 10 or 15 semi's at a time... Apparently they were all headed to Frontier Days (in Cheyenne) a month early, I guess its a big deal. The semi's were out of our hair once we got into the city, and it wasn't long before we wound up at our lodging, the Laramie Community Center. After showering up we all went out to Wingers for lunch, a restaurant I thought only existed in Moscow, Id. We were allowed to use the facilities in the community center which doest mean much because not many of us really felt like lifting or running after our ride, but we did make use of the hot tub. At 5:30 we packed into our vans and headed for dinner with the Laramie Bike Club. After dinner a bunch of us sat down to watch the Reno 911:Miami movie, which if you haven't seen it is pretty funny... Stupid funny. Then we went to bed.
