Day 30 and 31 7/1 - 2/07 boulder

Wake up was at 5:30, we ate breakfast with our four ride alongs then headed out pretty quickly. The ride was mostly city type riding so there was a lot of stop and go. It was a short 55 miles to the chapter house at CU boulder. On the way there we met up with a red bull rep., a girl we met the night before. She stopped on the side of the road and gave us a bunch of free red bull. Once in Boulder we ate lunch and showered at the chapter house then prepared for murderball. Murderball is rugby for quadriplegics, an awesome sport. The players haven't lost all use of their upper limbs, but all do have some sort of limitation involving their arms or hands as well as completely paralyzed legs. This sport is tough, they took it easy on us and completely dominated us. Two of the team members play on the US para Olympic team and were also featured in the documentary Murderball. We were on our own for dinner, most of us went to the chapter house and cooked up some steaks and then headed to bed.

The next day was a day off. We didn't have anything to do aside from a sponsored breakfast at a local cafe. We decided to float the river in the afternoon. It is a river, changed using concrete to suit kayaking and kayaking competitions. It was scarier than white water rafting. Instead of rapids there were 3 and 4 foot waterfalls where you got sucked under and spit out seconds later. It was also really shallow in spots... A lot of bumps and bruises. After tubing we went and played campus golf... Which is really only an excuse to hit things on campus with a tennis ball using a golf club. After golf we returned to the chapter house to relax before our busy day in Denver.
